New E-Health system aims to keep heart patients safe at home

Summary
This study tests a remote patient management system called VIRTUES for people with implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs). About 1,115 adults with ICDs from participating centers will be randomly assigned to either remote monitoring with VIRTUES or usual care. The goal is to see if the system can speed up response to heart events and reduce major complications like hospitalization or stroke.
