Healing sounds and sights: new study tests VR and binaural beats for Post-Surgery comfort
NCT ID NCT07365488
First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested two non-drug methods—virtual reality and binaural beat stimulation—to help adults sleep better and feel more comfortable after mechanical heart valve replacement surgery. Many patients are bothered by the sound of the new valve, which can disturb sleep. 140 participants were randomly assigned to one of the two approaches to see which works best for improving recovery.
