VR games show promise for relieving phantom limb pain
NCT ID NCT05296265
Summary
This study tested whether virtual reality (VR) could help reduce phantom limb pain in people who have had leg amputations. Researchers compared two types of VR: one where participants played active leg movement games with a virtual leg, and another where they just watched immersive VR scenes. The goal was to see which approach better reduced pain intensity and improved quality of life for 46 participants with above- or below-knee amputations.
