First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding a virtual reality experience to a standard education program could help lower stress and anxiety in people caring for a family member with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease. A total of 127 unpaid caregivers took part. The experimental group used VR alongside the education, while the control group only received education. Researchers measured changes in distress, anxiety, empathy, and brain activity related to stress and caregiving.
