Cheaper jaw implants get High-Tech planning test

NCT ID NCT07373184

Summary

This study is looking back at past patients who received a total replacement of their jaw joint (temporomandibular joint). Researchers want to see if they could have used a cheaper, standard-sized implant instead of a custom-made one, by using advanced 3D computer planning. They will use old patient X-rays to virtually plan the surgery with the standard implant and compare it to the actual results the patients got. The goal is to see if this cheaper option, combined with modern planning software, can provide the same good outcomes.
