First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested whether virtual museum visits could help reduce common symptoms and anxiety in people receiving hemodialysis for kidney failure. Sixty patients were randomly assigned to either take five virtual museum tours or receive standard care. Researchers measured changes using the Dialysis Symptom Index and Beck Anxiety Scale. The goal was to see if this low-cost, non-drug activity could improve patient well-being.
