Can computer models help surgeons remove jaw tumors more precisely?

NCT ID NCT07306962

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether using computer-assisted virtual planning helps surgeons remove mandibular ameloblastoma (a non-cancerous but aggressive jaw tumor) with safer margins. Ten patients will have their surgery planned with 3D models, and the removed tissue will be checked under a microscope to see if the planned margins were accurate. The goal is to reduce the chance of the tumor coming back.
