Lab-Grown immune cells battle transplant infections

NCT ID NCT04331275

Summary

This study is testing whether specially designed immune cells, grown from a patient's own blood, can safely and effectively fight serious viral infections that occur after organ transplants. It involves 42 children and adults who have developed specific viral infections after receiving a transplant. The goal is to find a better treatment option that avoids the side effects and hospital stays often required with current antiviral medications.
