Major study aims to settle debate on safer breathing tube method for kids in surgery

NCT ID NCT07495436

Summary

This large international trial aims to find out if using a video camera on the breathing tube (videolaryngoscopy) is better than the standard method (direct laryngoscopy) for placing a breathing tube in children during surgery. It will involve over 5,500 children aged 0-16 years. The main goal is to see if the video method leads to more successful placements on the very first try, which is safer and reduces risks like low oxygen and airway injury.
