Can seeing the emergency make 911 faster?

NCT ID NCT06598592

Summary

This study tested whether letting emergency dispatchers see a video feed during a 911 call, instead of just hearing audio, helps them handle situations better. Researchers trained 20 dispatchers and had them manage simulated emergencies—like seizures or injuries—called in by 80 volunteers from public places. The goal was to see if video calls changed how long calls took and improved the experience for both the caller and the dispatcher.
