Brain wave study sheds light on mimic seizures
NCT ID NCT07521761
First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked back at medical records and brain wave recordings (video-EEG) of 50 adults who have psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES) — events that look like seizures but are not caused by electrical changes in the brain. Researchers wanted to describe the different types of movements and patterns seen during these episodes to help doctors make a correct diagnosis. The goal was to improve understanding of PNES and support more accurate identification in clinical practice.
