Can a simple video calm fears before major heart surgery?
NCT ID NCT06801145
Summary
This study tested whether showing an educational video about what to expect in the intensive care unit (ICU) could help patients feel less anxious before open-heart surgery. It involved 110 adults scheduled for planned surgery, comparing those who watched the video to those who received standard care. The goal was to see if better preparation could improve patients' overall ICU experience and lower their anxiety levels.
