Tickling away the ouch: vibration and tapping ease baby vaccine pain
NCT ID NCT07185152
First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study looked at two simple ways to help babies feel less pain during a hepatitis B vaccine shot: using a vibrating device on the injection site or gently flicking the skin before the needle. Researchers measured pain, crying time, and vital signs in 80 healthy infants. The goal was to find a drug-free method to make routine vaccinations more comfortable for newborns.
