First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests a device that electrically stimulates the balance nerve to help people with severe, long-term dizziness and unsteadiness caused by bilateral vestibular hypofunction. Up to 8 adults aged 22-90 will receive the implant, and researchers will measure improvements in balance, walking, and vision stability over 6 months. The goal is to control symptoms and improve quality of life, not to cure the underlying condition.
