Breathing tube to mask: a new weaning strategy tested
NCT ID NCT02921347
Summary
This study tested whether switching patients between a breathing tube and a mask could help them come off a ventilator faster. It involved 83 adults who had been on a ventilator for at least two weeks and were expected to have difficulty weaning. The goal was to see if this switching method was better than standard weaning practices at reducing time on the ventilator.
