Breathing training helps stroke patients get off ventilators faster
NCT ID NCT07003867
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked at 40 stroke patients (aged 40-60) who needed a breathing machine. Researchers compared two physical therapy methods—adjusting the ventilator's trigger sensitivity versus using a threshold breathing trainer—to see which better improved lung function and helped patients breathe on their own. The goal was to find a more effective way to strengthen breathing muscles and speed up recovery from the ventilator.
