Summary

This study aimed to find out which settings on the operating room breathing machine work best to prevent a common complication called atelectasis, where parts of the lung collapse after surgery. Researchers compared three different ventilation modes in 78 women undergoing hysterectomy. They used lung ultrasound scans before and after surgery to measure changes and see which method caused the least lung collapse.
