ICU fluid mystery: only some fluids actually boost circulation, study says
NCT ID NCT07499388
First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looks at how giving IV fluids to critically ill patients in the ICU changes their blood flow. Doctors want to know which fluids actually help the heart pump more blood. The study will measure blood pressure and flow in 45 patients before and after a 500 mL fluid infusion. Results may help doctors choose fluids more wisely.
