Breakthrough gel trial aims to heal stubborn leg sores

NCT ID NCT06568627

Summary

This study is testing whether a gel called EscharEx works better than a placebo gel at cleaning out dead tissue from chronic venous leg ulcers and preparing the wound to heal. It will involve 216 adults with leg ulcers that have been present for 4 weeks to a year. The goal is to see if this treatment helps wounds close completely and stay closed over time.
