Summary
This study tested a typhoid vaccine called TyphiBEV in over 72,000 people aged 1 to 30 years living in Vellore, India, where typhoid fever is common. The goal was to see if giving the vaccine to entire communities reduces the number of typhoid cases compared to communities that did not get the vaccine. Results will help decide if this vaccine should be used more widely to protect against typhoid.
