New device aims to make dialysis access surgery more successful

NCT ID NCT07058610

Summary

This study tested a device called the Amplifi System, which is designed to gently stretch and widen a patient's arm vein before creating a surgical access point for dialysis. It involved 19 people with end-stage kidney disease who needed a new, long-lasting way to connect to dialysis machines. Researchers checked if the device was safe and if it successfully made the vein large and strong enough to be used for regular dialysis treatments.
