New hope for controlling dangerous bleeding in rare liver condition
NCT ID NCT07310316
Summary
This study looks back at medical records to see if a combined procedure helps control dangerous bleeding in people with a rare condition called cavernous transformation of the portal vein. The procedure involves blocking off the bleeding veins and partially blocking the artery to the spleen to reduce pressure. Researchers are checking if this approach reduces repeat bleeding and improves other health measures in 26 patients who weren't eligible for other standard treatments.
