Ear-Zapping therapy aims to get Parkinson's patients walking better

NCT ID NCT07337226

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 17, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests if a gentle electrical stimulation of the ear (called taVNS) combined with treadmill training can improve walking and brain function in people recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Sixty participants will receive either real or fake stimulation during 12 therapy sessions over 4 weeks. Researchers will measure walking speed, brain activity, and inflammation markers to see if the combination works better than therapy alone.
