Ear stimulation plus treadmill training shows promise for Parkinson's gait
NCT ID NCT07337226
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether a gentle electrical stimulation on the ear (called taVNS) can improve walking and brain function in people recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Sixty participants will receive either real or placebo stimulation during 12 treadmill and physical therapy sessions over four weeks. Researchers will measure walking speed, brain activity, and markers of inflammation to see if the combination works better than therapy alone.
