First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026
Summary
This study tested a non-invasive device that gently stimulates a nerve in the ear to see if it can improve awareness in people with disorders of consciousness after a coma. 44 patients in a minimally conscious or vegetative state took part. Researchers measured changes in behavior and brain activity to see if the stimulation helped.
