NCT ID NCT05753813
First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 07, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a lactic acid gel used for contraception (Phexxi) can change the balance of bacteria in the vagina to help prevent repeat bacterial vaginosis (BV) and yeast infections. Researchers will track 22 women aged 18-54 who have had at least two infections in the past year. Participants will use the gel for 30 days, and scientists will check their vaginal microbiome and symptoms before, right after, and 30 days later.
