New pill may help dialysis patients fight anemia without needles

Summary

This study tests a new drug called vadadustat for anemia in people with end-stage kidney disease who are on dialysis. About 350 adults will take either vadadustat three times a week or a standard injected ESA. The goal is to see if the new drug keeps hemoglobin levels in a healthy range with fewer side effects.
