First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study tests a program called VA S.A.V.E., which teaches family members and friends of Veterans how to recognize signs of suicide risk and guide them to professional help. About 700 participants who have regular contact with a Veteran will take the training, and researchers will measure how often they use the skills they learn. The goal is to see if this training helps close supports feel more confident and take action to prevent suicide.
