NCT ID NCT07286383

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a new program called PREVAIL-VA, where trained peer specialists—veterans who have themselves experienced serious mental illness—provide one-on-one support to fellow veterans at risk for suicide. Over 3 months, 306 veterans will receive 12 sessions focused on hope, belonging, and safety. The goal is to see if this peer-led approach reduces suicide risk better than usual care alone.
