Summary

This study looked at how complementary health approaches like acupuncture, massage, and yoga affect pain in veterans with long-term muscle or joint pain. Over 3,600 veterans from 18 VA medical centers took part, using either practitioner-delivered therapies alone or combined with self-care practices. The goal was to see if these treatments improved pain severity and daily functioning after six months.
