C-Section stitch switch could prevent future womb damage
NCT ID NCT07229222
First seen Nov 14, 2025 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested a different way of stitching the uterus after a first-time C-section to prevent a common complication called a uterine niche (a small defect in the scar). 380 women were randomly assigned to receive either the new stitching method or the standard one. The goal was to see if the new method led to fewer niches, which can cause future problems like abnormal bleeding or pain.
