Could a supplement in pomegranates help fight prostate cancer?

NCT ID NCT06022822

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether a natural supplement called urolithin A, found in pomegranates, can reduce cell damage in prostate tumors. About 90 men with prostate cancer will take either the supplement or a placebo daily for 3 to 6 weeks before their prostate removal surgery. Researchers will measure changes in a marker of oxidative stress in the tumor tissue to see if the supplement has a protective effect.
