Tiny implant shows promise for controlling embarrassing bladder leaks

NCT ID NCT03327948

Summary

This study tested a small, implanted device that uses gentle electrical pulses to calm overactive bladder nerves and reduce sudden, uncontrollable urine leaks. It involved 129 adults who still had frequent leaks despite trying other treatments like medication or exercises. Researchers followed participants for two years to see if the device safely and effectively cut their leak episodes in half and improved their daily life.
