First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at how people who avoid using one arm or hand (due to pain or injury) perceive the space around them. Researchers will use virtual reality to measure how far participants think they can reach. The goal is to understand if the brain's map of personal space changes when a limb is not used. 60 adults (30 with arm disuse and 30 healthy volunteers) will take part.
