First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at special cells called endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) that help repair blood vessels. Researchers want to understand why these cells don't work properly in people with type 2 diabetes, leading to heart problems. They will compare three groups: people with diabetes and heart disease, people with diabetes only, and healthy volunteers. The goal is to find new ways to prevent or treat heart complications in diabetes.
