First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests a new method to quickly give emergency medication to newborns who are in cardiac arrest right after birth. Doctors will try to place a tiny tube into the umbilical vein through a special gel (Wharton's jelly) to deliver life-saving drugs faster. The goal is to see if this approach can restore a normal heart rate within 90 seconds more often than the standard method. The study involves 26 full-term newborns in delivery rooms across multiple hospitals.
