Surgeons test which mesh position works best for belly button hernias
NCT ID NCT07367321
Summary
This study aims to find out which of two common surgical mesh placement techniques is better for repairing umbilical hernias. It will compare the 'onlay' method (mesh placed on top of the muscle layer) with the 'sublay' method (mesh placed behind the muscle). Researchers will track 116 adult patients to see which technique leads to fewer complications, less pain, and a lower chance of the hernia coming back.
