Cord coils linked to fetal heart health in new study

NCT ID NCT06915051

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study explored whether the number of twists (coils) in the umbilical cord is connected to a baby's heart function during pregnancy. Researchers used ultrasound to measure both the cord coiling and heart function in 202 healthy pregnant women. The goal was to better understand normal development, not to test a treatment.
