When to clamp the cord? study tests waiting for pulsation to stop
NCT ID NCT03844490
First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at 580 pregnant women and their babies to see if waiting for the umbilical cord to stop pulsing before clamping is better than clamping within 1 to 3 minutes after birth. The goal was to check if the timing affects newborn jaundice, iron levels, and mother's health. The findings help doctors decide the safest way to clamp the cord.
