First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether cells from donated umbilical cords can safely help people with systemic sclerosis, a rare disease that causes skin hardening and organ damage. About 18 adults with severe disease will receive infusions of these cells. The goal is to see if the treatment reduces skin thickness and improves overall health without serious side effects.
