Could a quick scan replace x-rays for ICU feeding tubes?
NCT ID NCT07376083
Summary
This study aims to see if a bedside ultrasound is as good as a chest X-ray for checking if a feeding tube is placed correctly in the stomach of intensive care patients. Researchers will compare the two methods in 170 adult ICU patients who need a feeding tube. The goal is to find out if ultrasound is accurate and possibly faster, which could reduce the need for X-rays.
