Belly scan may replace vaginal exam for safer, more comfortable labor admission

This study compares a simple belly ultrasound to the standard vaginal exam for deciding whether to admit pregnant women in labor to the hospital. About 170 women with full-term pregnancies will be randomly assigned to one method. The goal is to see if ultrasound reduces unnecessary labor inductions and makes the admission process more comfortable.
