Belly scan may replace vaginal exam for labor admission
NCT ID NCT07278271
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study compares a belly ultrasound to a standard vaginal exam for deciding whether to admit pregnant women in labor to the hospital. About 170 full-term women will be randomly assigned to one method. The goal is to see if the ultrasound reduces unnecessary labor inductions and makes the admission process more comfortable.
