Could simple scans replace risky surgery for women with vulvar cancer?

Summary
This study is testing if regular, high-resolution ultrasound scans of the groin can safely replace immediate, invasive lymph node surgery for women with early-stage vulvar cancer. The goal is to see if this less invasive approach reduces serious side effects like chronic pain and leg swelling, without compromising survival. It will involve 640 women who will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard surgery or the new ultrasound monitoring plan.
