Ultrasound could spare women major cancer surgery

Summary
This study is testing if regular ultrasound scans can safely replace immediate surgery to check for cancer spread in the groin for women with early-stage vulvar cancer. It aims to see if this approach is feasible and could reduce the severe, lifelong side effects caused by current surgical procedures. The trial will involve 30 Australian women who will be randomly assigned to either have the standard surgery or receive ultrasound monitoring every two months for a year.
