Ultrasound may replace scope for tube checks in lung surgery

NCT ID NCT07465510

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests if a bedside ultrasound can accurately confirm the position of a special breathing tube used during lung surgery. Researchers will compare ultrasound results with the current gold standard (a tiny camera scope) and simple listening with a stethoscope. The goal is to see if ultrasound is a reliable, faster, and noninvasive alternative for ensuring patient safety.
