Summary
This study tested whether using a static ultrasound image to mark the artery before a wrist blood draw works better than the usual method of feeling for the pulse. One hundred adult ER patients were randomly assigned to one of the two techniques. The goal was to see if ultrasound guidance could shorten the procedure time, improve first-stick success, and reduce pain and complications.
