Could a simple ultrasound replace expensive MRIs for hip pain?
NCT ID NCT07198646
Summary
This study aimed to see if ultrasound, a cheaper and more accessible test, could be as reliable as MRI for diagnosing a specific type of chronic hip pain called ischiofemoral impingement. Researchers compared measurements taken by both methods in 30 adult patients already diagnosed with the condition. The goal was to determine if ultrasound could serve as a good alternative for diagnosis, potentially making it easier and less costly for patients to get answers about their hip pain.
