First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested two ways to place a numbing catheter in the lower back of 68 obese patients (BMI over 30) having leg surgery. One method used ultrasound to find the right spot, while the other relied on feeling the bones by hand. The goal was to see which approach led to success on the first try, fewer needle sticks, and fewer complications.
