New study tests which guided nerve block works better for chronic knee pain

NCT ID NCT07475793

Summary

This study aims to see if using ultrasound guidance for a nerve-blocking procedure provides better and longer-lasting pain relief for chronic knee osteoarthritis compared to the standard fluoroscopy (X-ray) guidance. Researchers will enroll 52 adults over 50 with severe knee arthritis and significant pain. They will randomly assign patients to receive the procedure with one of the two guidance methods and measure pain levels and knee function six months later.
