New scan aims to make Kids' surgery safer

NCT ID NCT07185516

Summary

This study aims to find a better way to predict which children might have a difficult airway during surgery requiring a breathing tube. Researchers will compare standard physical exams to ultrasound scans of the neck in 130 children having elective surgery. The goal is to see if the ultrasound scan is more accurate at spotting potential airway problems before anesthesia begins.
