Zapping kidney fat: new ultrasound therapy targets stubborn high blood pressure
NCT ID NCT07232966
Summary
This study is testing a new procedure that uses focused ultrasound energy to target and modify the fat tissue around the kidneys. The goal is to see if this one-time treatment can safely and effectively lower blood pressure in people whose high blood pressure remains uncontrolled despite taking multiple medications. Researchers will compare the results in people who receive the real treatment versus a sham (fake) procedure over six months.
